Author, Güven Genç produced a documentary study involving 5 years of intensive archive and interview effort in his book named as ‘Precious sturgeon fish of Çarşamba’. This valuable study unearths dusty sturgeon fishery pictures of the Black Sea fisherman and caviar production. In an era where many sturgeon fish species went extinct and caviar production lost in memories, this archival study constitutes an important book for the Black Sea community. Nowadays, as major rivers and the health of the ecosystems are in peril due to the construction and hydroelectric plant construction, the importance of free-flowing rivers and its migrational animals has upmost importance.
