Since the day we took office, we are proud and happy to serve our city and its distinguished people, you.
All our efforts are to make our Samsun, where the first torch of an unprecedented struggle and war of honor was lit, a center of attraction worthy of this historical mission and in line with the requirements of the century; to make it an important city of the modern world and the modern Republic of Turkey. With this determination and stability, we consider it among our most important duties to present the historical, economic, geographical, social and cultural values of our city, where one of the milestones of the great Turkish nation, is for the benefit of our people through scientific research and publications.
Because we do not perceive municipality as only infrastructure and superstructure works. In our city, which is a member of the Union of Historical Cities, we care more than anything else to protect our historical heritage, to protect our natural beauties, to engage in socio-cultural activities for all our people, to create a more livable environment for you, in short, to make our Samsun one of the most important cultural centers of our country.
My dear friends, this work in your hands; It tells us the unique beauty of Samsun sea, water culture and Samsun fishing and aquaculture industry from past to present with all its
components, with a rich content. The protection of marine biological riches, which are rapidly depleting in the world and in our country, also has an important place in terms of sustaining the aquatic life of our Samsun. I would like to thank Güven Genç for carrying out this work with great effort and time.
